Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

West Morena Boulevard runs alongside Interstate 5 at Bay Park’s western edge and is lined with great places to dine and drink. Luce serves exceptional cocktails and upscale gastropub fare in a chic warehouse-style space, while nearby Bay Park Fish Company offers a creative selection of sandwiches, tacos, and sushi prepared with freshly-caught seafood. Coronado Brewing has fantastic craft beers on tap—including special, limited releases—whereas refined Italian restaurant Baci provides a unique dining experience complete with black-tie waiters. JV’s Mexican is the go-to for a late-night Mexican fix, serving up big portions and great burritos.

On the southside of Bay Park, Deft Brewing is a great locally-owned brewery with wonderful beers. The nearby Urbane Café is a lively part of the University of San Diego scene and a lunch hotspot for local businesses.

At Bay Park’s Clairemont Village Shopping Center, Clairemont Village Shopping Center has a Sprouts Farmers’ Market, as well as dining options such as Farmer’s Table’s farm-fresh Italian-style dishes. And if you’re craving a good donut spot on a Saturday morning, Rose Donuts on Linda Vista Road serves traditional donuts and delicious egg sandwiches. The line is almost always out the door, but the taste is worth the wait!

Things to Do

Located in the heart of Bay Park, Western Hills Park is a neighborhood green space with a tree-shaded open lawn surrounded by a basketball court, playground, and picnic area. Mission Bay Park is one of the country’s largest waterfront parks with a sprawling aquatic playground including amenities and attractions such as beaches, boardwalks, and SeaWorld San Diego.

Come down to Mission Bay in June for the Rock and Roll Marathon to hang with locals, listen to live music, and cheer on the runners! Erie Street Trick-or-Treat is a Halloween hidden gem, where parents chaperone their kids and socialize across many of Bay Park’s residential blocks. San Diego County Fair is an annual extravaganza that takes place each June at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, a short drive north of Bay Park and Bay Ho along Interstate 5. One of the highlights of the County Fair is the Firefighter Demolition Derby, which features live firefighting demonstrations.
